The Washington Commanders have already improved their roster with the trade for Deebo Samuel, which can't become official until the beginning of the new league year.

Commanders Make 'Hellacious' Move In Latest Mock Draft

With free agency still a couple of weeks away, and the NFL Draft after that, the Commanders have ample time to fix several holes in their roster, with defensive and offensive line looming as areas in need of reinforcing.

Samuel fixed the receiver issue to a point, but another body is still expected to come in, looking at the draft, the Commanders, who pick at No. 29, will have to bide their time in the first round.

And for Yahoo Sports, in their latest mock draft, the Commanders make a selection no one sees coming. They draft North Carolina's Omarion Hampton.

"Surprise? A second running back enters the first round with Hampton getting drafted at this point," Yahoo Sports writes. "Hampton and Jayden Daniels would form a hellacious backfield in Washington that might allow the Commanders to make another deep playoff run next season."

Hampton, for some, is the best back in the class over Ashton Jeanty, and looking at his numbers, Omarion is a monster.

In his last two seasons, he's rushed for over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns in each season. That'll do.

Running a 4.46 40-yard dash, Hampton has home run potential out of the backfield, and paring him with Brian Robinson Jr., Jayden Daniels, and Deebo, all of whom will feature in Kliff Kingsbury's offense, is a mouth-watering prospect.

A powerful downhill runner, he's tough to stop once Hampton gets up a head of steam. The true definition of a bell cow, Hampton, can also be an option in the passing game, and we know how Kingsbury likes to get his backs involved.

It would be a surprising pick, but Hampton in this Washington offense would be quite something.
