Commanders RB Taken to Hospital After Scary Hit vs. Cowboys

Washington Commanders running back Austin Ekeler is being checked following the scary collision he was involved in during Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

In the final moments of the game, Ekeler was running with the ball after receiving it from a Cowboys kickoff. However, as he met the Dallas defense in the middle of the field, he was stopped by linebackers Nick Vigil and Damone Clark.

Unfortunately, Ekeler also clashed helmets with Clark, causing him to fall and lie motionless on the ground for a brief period. Fortunately, the 29-year-old running back was able to get up and walk off the field, albeit with assistance.

After the game, Commanders coach Dan Quinn confirmed that Austin Ekeler suffered a concussion and will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the issue, per Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post.

Additionally, a Commanders spokesperson shared that Ekeler has been taken to the hospital to get checked immediately.

"Out of an abundance of caution, Austin Ekeler was taken to the hospital for further testing, per team spokesperson," Jhabvala added.

More updates are expected to come from the Commanders once Ekeler gets tested. However, considering that he's already diagnosed with concussion, it won't be a surprise if Washington opts to sideline him for Week 13 when they face the Tennessee Titans.
