Commanders Trade of 2 First-Round Picks for Garrett Urged

Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett, who is a finalist and favorite for his second-straight NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award, wants out.

And folks in Washington think the Commanders should be in.

"The Buffalo Bills should doing everything they can to trade for Myles Garrett, who just requested a trade from the Browns." Griffin posted.

Myles had a career-high and NFL-leading 22 tackles-for-loss this season, paired with his 14 sacks. Garrett has recorded double-digit sacks and tackles-for-loss in the last seven NFL seasons.

The six-time Pro Bowler and four-time All Pro referenced the Browns' struggles to win for his reason of wanting out of the city that he's called home for the last eight years.

He wants to chase a Super Bowl ring.

Washington - which has $90 million in cap room and could offer up two first-round picks, as is being urged by DC media - qualifies.

Garrett would be joining a Washington defense that along with rookie QB Jayden Daniels led an incredible franchise turnaround … with first-year head coach Dan Quinn driving his upstart club to the NFC Championship Game.

No Commanders defender has the credentials to match Garrett, at 29 still in his prime.

Garrett would immediately give DC a premiere edge-rusher. … though he might come with a $30 million APY price tag.

Garrett would be a massive addition to a Commanders defense that was one of the NFL's worst in terms of run defense.

The Commanders have a strong linebacker core of Dante Fowler, Frankie Lulu and Bobby Wagner, who all had double digit tackles-for-loss, but adding Garrett on the edge to lay off Jonathan Allen on the inside could open up a lot of backfield opportunities for those linebackers.
