It doesn't matter how they do it, the Washington Commanders just find ways to win in the Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels era.
A week after their miracle Hail Mary win over the Chicago Bears, the Commanders knocked out the lowly New York Giants at MetLife Stadium Sunday afternoon by a 27-22 final score.
It was their first sweep of their NFC East rival since 2021.
Daniels recorded two touchdown throws to Terry McLaurin in the win while the Commanders defense manhandled a banged-up Giants offensive line throughout the contest.
While Daniel Jones was only sacked twice, the Giants struggled to keep him clean in the pocket during the contest.
Washington led 21-7 at the end of the first half thanks to the two strikes from Daniels to McLaurin. In the second half, though, the Commanders may not have scored a touchdown but dominated the pace of play throughout.
Jones ran in for a touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, but Washington's stout rushing attack and a key third down reception from Jayden Daniels to Austin Ekeler got the Commanders offense back in scoring position again.
More importantly, it helped Washington eat up precious seconds on the clock to go back up by two scores with a late field goal. The winning drive ended up being an 11-play, 63-yard drive that ate up over five minutes of game action.
With the 27-16 lead, and with under five minutes to play, a late touchdown throw from Daniel Jones to Theo Johnson did nothing to change the intended outcome for the organization as they moved to 7-2 on the year.
They take on the Pittsburgh Steelers next week with a chance to extend their NFC East lead.
