Here we are, folks, getting ready for Dallas Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, and we have rookie running back Jaydon Blue the subject of headlines, negative headlines.
Former Cowboys staffer Glenn "Stretch" Smith was a guest on the "Locked On Cowboys." podcast and made a rather incendiary comment about Blue and his work ethic.
"I'm already hearing some rumblings out of the building about the running back they drafted and him being borderline lazy, not in the building doing his offseason workouts," Smith said.
That is quite a statement, and of course, it sent social media into meltdown.
But it didn't take long for Blue to respond, and it was an emphatic one at that.
Blue posted on X a picture of himself this offseason with the caption: "Production quiets all the noise."
But Blue wasn't done there, posting on Instagram as well, writing "Lmao taking time out yo day to make a fake article about me for attention."
Now we prefer to let the cake bake on this sort of thing and aren't going to take Smith's word for it that Blue has been lazy this offseason.
We will find out soon enough at training camp if Blue has been "lazy," as it will show up on the field if he isn't in good physical condition for Brian Schottenheimer. However, there is a narrative about the rookie, unideal, and he will now have to prove that it isn't true once he touches down in Oxnard.
Expected to be part of the running back room with Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams, there is a spot in Schotty's offense for Blue ... if he's good enough.
But the first port of call once training camp begins is to squash this "lazy" narrative.

The Houston Texans invested heavily in their trenches this offseason, specifically along the offensive line. However, after C.J.
