Dad Arrives to Pick Up Son, Finds Scene Straight Out of 'The Walking Dead'

Father's School Run Reminds Him of A Zombie Show

An Arkansas man collecting his son from school saw something that made him want to turn right back around this week.

In a clip posted to TikTok, Cody can be seen waiting in the car as children exited the building, but it's not a scene parents are familiar with. Shadows of the kids stretched behind the caged fence enclosing the school and one even attempts to climb the fence, creating a moment that seems straight out of The Walking Dead.

Cody, who saw the resemblance to the iconic zombie series, wrote on the text overlay: "Pulling up to get my son. I kind of wanted to drive off. Not gonna lie... #twd."

The dad of three posted the short clip on TikTok (@thecodyburch), where it has captivated over 3 million viewers. He fittingly dubbed The Walking Dead's theme tune over the eerie scene and over 4,700 social media users commented on the uncanny resemblance.

"I don't know what I was watching but then I realized and was even more terrifying," one user commented. "I love finding random 'movie sets', this is the best one yet," a second wrote.

"I thought this was the walking dead," a third said. They weren't the only one to mistake the video for a snippet of the 2010 series. "With the music, I legit thought this was like a preview for a new one. I didn't realize at first, and I started laughing so hard when I caught it," another wrote.

Teachers also seemed familiar with the post-apocalyptic horror scene: "As a teacher the week before the break... it really is the walking dead in schools right now," they laughed.

Another commented: "This is what we teachers go through all day. The conversations behind the fence are, 'Do you see your parents? Pay attention, look for their car'."

Many other parents jokingly wondered what they might encounter at their next school run and encouraged Cody to save himself. "I have a kid but this is a NOPE for me. I can see it," commented one user.

"I would have thought the same thing. Meanwhile, the song 'Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?' is playing in my head," said another.
