Philadelphia Eagles star tight end Dallas Goedert made it clear that there’s no tension between quarterback Jalen Hurts and his top target A.J. Brown, despite what some headlines might suggest.
According to Goedert, their fiery personalities aren’t a sign of conflict, but rather a sign of a great relationship.
"I think they’ve got a great relationship," Goedert said in an interview with Essentially Sports. "They’re both passionate. They’re both very meticulous at what they do. You know, I think they got a great relationship.
"Sometimes the Philadelphia media likes to stir stuff up. You know, as a wide receiver, I want him to be a little bit of a diva. I want him to want the ball. I want him to believe that he’s the best and can never be guarded. So, when everything’s going good, nobody has a problem with anything. When something starts to struggle, you know, he wants the ball. He wants to be able to be a difference maker, and I think both of them handled it really well, getting their points across, and I think Jalen does everything right to make sure everybody on the team stays happy."
While the media certainly does love to stir things up, Brown had confirmed following the team's Super Bowl run that he and Hurts do butt heads sometimes. However, it's only because they're both trying to be the best.
"I'd be lying to tell you we never had any issues," Brown said. "We're two alphas who want to be the best, and demand greatness from each other and everyone around us. Some reports are true, some aren't. But me and him are good man. We just wanna be great. And sometimes we bump heads, but that's normal. And don't nobody sweat it.. It's normal. But with the history of this team, with McNabb and T.O, it's magnified x10."
The important takeaway is that no matter what may be happening behind the scenes, Brown and Hurts always manage to set differences aside and come up with wins.
