DeAndre Hopkin honors 'Remember the Titans' after this magical Patrick Mahomes TD pass
DeAndre Hopkins scored his first touchdown as a Chief and it did not disappoint.
In the second quarter of "Monday Night Football," the Chiefs started their third offensive series of the night. They were on the verge of entering the Buccaneers' red zone but were facing third-and-eight on the Buccs' 38-yard line.
With pressure in his face, Patrick Mahomes was able to lob a pass downfield that connected with Hopkins for 35 yards.
The two connected once again, this time on third-and-goal. Mahomes found Hopkins wide open in the back of the end zone for the one-yard TD reception – Hopkins' first TD with the Kansas City Chiefs. Now that Hopkins is finally in a winning-organization, the receiver had no choice but to bust out one of the most iconic celebrations in football - the dance from "Remember the Titans."
Maybe a slight dig towards the Tennessee Titans? Who knows. Hopkins' run with the Titans looked to be the twilight of his career, but after being traded for a conditional fifth-round pick on Oct. 24, Hopkins has something to prove to football fans and the Titans.
Not only was this Hopkins' first TD with the Chiefs, it was his 80th career TD for the receiver.
