DeShon Elliott blast at Miami Dolphins called out by ex-NFL wide receiver, ‘You was on the team’

DeShon Elliott had some strong words to say about his former team after spending a season with Tua Tagovailoa’s unit.

DeShon Elliott blast at Miami Dolphins called out by ex-NFL wide receiver, ‘You was on the team’

Tua Tagovailoa has had better seasons. In a year kicked off by the quarterback calling out his former coach Brian Flores, the quarterback is well under .500 and hanging on by a thread.

Of course, Tua Tagovailoa’s play can’t be blamed for everything, but his injury was the obvious moment the season started to turn. With the quarterback now under center once again, the team has looked somewhat close to as good as it did in 2023.

However, facing a big hole to climb out of, the Dolphins are most likely done for the season. One former member of the team has taken some shots, which has prompted a hostile response. Dolphins cornerback DeShon Elliott has gone on record calling the team “soft.”

James Jones responds to Elliott’s attack on Miami

Speaking in response to the criticism essentially on behalf of the Dolphins, former Packers wide receiver James Jones called out Elliott’s resume on “The Facility” this week. Jones believed Elliott had no room to talk.

“I hate when people leave teams and now it was the team and not them. You was on the team when they was getting bullied. You’ve been on four teams in six years, so you can’t be that big of a deal.

“You can’t be on four teams in six years. [There’s] not too many people watching your tape saying, we need him on our team. He the bully,” he said.

Elliott’s comments are also somewhat of a headscratcher as the Dolphins managed to make the playoffs, crossing the line between good and bad in the NFL in the minds of most fans.

He has played for the Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Pittsburgh Steelers since he joined the league in 2019.

Does DeShon Elliott play against the Miami Dolphins this season?

The Steelers defensive back’s only chance to play against the Miami Dolphins this season would be to change teams for a fifth time.

The Steelers could technically play the Dolphins, but both teams would need to make the playoffs first.

The Steelers have essentially checked that box, but the Dolphins still have a long road to even getting their hands on a pencil. Elliott’s Steelers still have six divisional games left on their schedule, so there is still a lot to learn about his team as well. That said, at 7-2, it would take a unique disaster for the team to miss the postseason.
