On Sunday, the Detroit Lions will complete their cross-conference entire division circuit with a road trip to take on the Indianapolis Colts. It's also the fourth time in five games and the third straight game they'll face an AFC South opponent.
The injury front is mixed for the Lions this week. Linebacker Alex Anzalone was placed on IR after suffering a broken left forearm in Week 11, but tight end Sam LaPorta is good to go after missing Week 11 with a left shoulder injury. Also on the positive side, cornerback Emmanuel Moseley (pectoral) is line for his season debut on Sunday after being activated from IR on Saturday.
Back on the negative side regarding injuries for the Lions, unfortunately, rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold suffered a groin injury on Thursday. He was listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report, as pretty much expected, then he was downgraded to out before the team traveled to Indianapolis on Saturday. Fellow rookie cornerback Ennis Rakestraw was ruled out after showing up on Friday's injury report with a hamstring injury.
Rakestraw, as the corresponding move to activating Moseley, was placed on IR on Saturday, So he will miss at least the next four games, and since he's on IR (not on the 53-man roster) he will not be listed as an inactive for Sunday's game.
The specter of a short week before the Thanksgiving Day game against the Chicago Bears, and Sunday's game being the first of three games in a 11-day stretch for the Lions, the new midweek injury and the late downgrade might mean Arnold misses more than one game.
