The Detroit Lions put on an absolute show this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. When the final whistle blew, the Lions ended up winning by a final score of 52-6.

Detroit Lions Reach Massive Statistic Not Done In 45 Years

At no point in the game, did the Jaguars look like they had any chance of competing against Detroit.

Beating Jacksonville by 46 points is just another sign of how talented the Lions are. They are a legitimate Super Bowl contender and have a very real chance to accomplish that goal. Even following the injury to superstar pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit has been elite.

All of that being said, the Detroit Lions reached a milestone not seen in 45 years.

As shared by NFL on CBS, the Lions out-gained the Jaguars by 475+ yards. That’s the largest margin in an NFL game over the last 45 years.

Dan Campbell and company have completely turned the franchise around. They went from being a laughing stock to being a Super Bowl contender quickly. He accomplished that turnaround very quickly.

Looking ahead at the future, the Detroit Lions have massive amounts of talent on both sides of the football. They have drafted well and signed the right free agents. Detroit has also done a good job of keeping their talent from leaving town.

Sustaining this kind of success for an extended period of time can be difficult, but the Lions seem to have the right group of players, the right coaching staff, and the right front office in charge.

Following their win over Jacksonville, the Lions now hold a 9-1 record. They’re the best team in the NFC currently and have shown no signs of slowing down.

Next up, Detroit will face off against the Indianapolis Colts on the road. They are going to be favored to win that game and will have a good opportunity to move to 10-1 on the season if they take care of business.
