The Walking Dead universe has expanded overseas in the storyline created in the Daryl Dixon spinoff. The first season followed the title character, played by Norman Reedus, as he was forcibly thrown on a ship bound for France. The series second season continued that journey and featured his reunion with his best friend Carol (Melissa McBride). In 2025, the third season will expand TWDU again
The Daryl Dixon spinoff has been a great addition to the universe, giving viewers a look at how other parts of the world have experienced the outbreak. Showrunner and creator David Zabel and the rest of the creators have done an incredible job creating one of AMC's most-watched series.
The first season added several new characters to Daryl's story, and these are portrayed by Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laïka Blanc-Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi, Adam Nagaitis, and Joel de la Fuente. All but Nagaitis also appeared in season 2, where re-introduced Carol Peletier to TWDU in the long awaited reunion between Daryl and Carol. Many of the characters introduced in seasons 1 and 2 sadly didn't survive, and others have split away on their own journeys.
The upcoming season of Daryl Dixon will begin Daryl and Carol's journey to Spain, but first, they will make what Zabel describes as "an interesting stop." This stop will introduce the pair to Emmy-winning Stephen Merchant's "interesting" character during the premiere episode of the season.
A massive list of new actors has been added to the Daryl Dixon series, including Spanish actor Óscar Jaenada with Eduardo Noriega, Alexandra Masangkay, Hugo Arbués, and Candela Saitta. Additional cast announcements include Cuco Usín, Gonzalo Bouza, Greta Fernández, Hada Nieto, Stephen Merchant, Yassmine Othman, Irina Björklund, Armando Buika, Javier Taboada, Boré Buika, Anna Gras, Claudio Bandini, Pedro Bachura and Elena Sándell.
