The Detroit Lions signed young Running Back Jabari Small on Friday morning. He is coming off a rookie season where did not appear in an NFL game. He was waived on May 14 by the Tennessee Titans and has found his new home. How will he play with the Lions in 2025?

Detroit Lions Season Outlook

Following another disappointing playoff exit, the Lions enter 2025 with Super Bowl aspirations. Smith joins a Detroit Lions offense that is one of the league’s best. Detroit’s rushing attack was especially potent in 2024. They were sixth in the league in rushing yards per game.

The dynamic duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery had 1,000 rushing yards apiece and 28 combined rushing touchdowns. Other talented pieces on Detroit’s offense include Quarterback Jared Goff, Wide Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Tight End Sam LaPorta.

Final Thoughts

Small will be nothing more than a depth piece for the Detroit Lions to begin this season. He will look to make an impact with a talented Lions roster and succeed when called upon. Detroit’s defense was ravaged by injuries last season. If that happens with the offense this season, look for Small to be featured.
