Dodgers’ Dave Roberts Makes Tyler Glasnow Announcement After Injury

It's tough to ignore the injuries that Tyler Glasnow has dealt with during his career.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are happy to have him on their roster, as he's one of the top arms in Major League Baseball, but he's often injured, and it's starting to become a bit of an issue.

Throughout his career, he's yet to appear in more than 34 games in a season and has thrown more than 20 times only three times.

For a Dodgers organization that's dealt with multiple injuries over the past few years, they need their tall right-hander to be on the bump.

Unfortunately, Glasnow left the game on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates with shoulder discomfort, something the team clearly doesn't want to deal with. He didn't look great during his only inning of work, allowing two home runs and a walk.

The Dodgers understand that there could be a potential issue on the horizon for them, with multiple starters dealing with injuries. According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, Dave Roberts announced after the Glasnow injury that they could look to stretch out Ben Casparius to start games.

"It's a thought," Roberts said. "He gave us four innings today. He's unflappable. He flooded the strike zone. And he saved our tails today."

Casparius, a Connecticut native, has been excellent during his time with the Dodgers. The 26-year-old has done nothing but get outs at a high level, evident by his 2.16 ERA a season ago, and his current 2.91 ERA.

He came in against the Pirates on Sunday and threw 3 2/3 innings of two-hit baseball and allowed zero earned runs.

Casparius also struck out five in that outing, showing that he can work for more than an inning or two.
