Dodgers Trade Idea Sends Former Top Prospect to Yankees for Two Players

The Los Angeles Dodgers have so much pitching that it might make sense for them to move on from some of their starters.

One of them could be Bobby Miller, who's in a strange spot in his career. When Miller has been in a groove in the minors, he's proven that his stuff is some of the best in the minors.

However, already 26 years old, and a lack of a rotation spot in the Dodgers staff when healthy, it's tough to find a place for him to play.

That's why Newsweek's Zach Presnell proposed a deal to send him to the New York Yankees. His deal would return Everson Pereira and Brock Selvidge.

"The last trade on this list is a bit of a lottery ticket idea. Right now, the Yankees are trotting out Carlos Carrasco in their starting rotation. New York could take a shot on a low-risk, high-reward former top prospect from the Los Angeles Dodgers: Bobby Miller.

"Miller doesn't have a clear path to the big leagues with Los Angeles, but he could be a starter in New York. The Dodgers are opting for other top prospects over him as they battle injuries right now. The Yankees could afford to part ways with two prospects to land a guy like Miller," Pressnell wrote.

It's tough to tell what the Dodgers would get in return for the right-hander, but this package feels fair. He hasn't been great in his short career at the major league level, posting a 5.24 ERA.

He was brutal last year, too.

However, the Yankees need pitching, and they might like the upside on the Illinois native.
