Dolphins elevate WR Robbie Chosen to active roster for Week 1

The Miami Dolphins elevated wide receiver Robbie Chosen from the practice squad to the active roster for a Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chosen, 31, spent the 2023 season with the Dolphins, bouncing on and off the team’s practice squad. He appeared in nine games and caught four passes for 126 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown reception early in the year.

After spending a couple weeks in training camp with the San Francisco 49ers, Chosen was added to the Dolphins’ practice squad at the end of August.

NFL teams are allowed to temporarily elevate a player to the active roster a maximum of three times. If the Dolphins move Chosen up two more times after Sunday, they’ll need to pull him off the practice squad permanently to make him available on game days.

The elevation of Chosen isn’t surprising after rookie receiver Malik Washington was ruled out by the team Friday due to a quad injury. The only other receivers currently on the active roster are Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Braxton Berrios, and recently acquired Grant DuBose.
