During the Philadelphia Eagles loss at home to the Atlanta Falcons, there was one glaring weakness ... no A.J. Brown.
Without Brown on the field, the offense sputtered at times allowing the Falcons to key on the running game. The Eagles still pounded out nearly 200 yards on the ground, but without their star receiver making plays downfield, Philadelphia couldn't run their normal offense.
On Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Brown is dealing with a hamstring issue that could sideline him for multiple weeks.
"Eagles listed WR A.J. Brown - who told Lisa Salters that he expected to miss a couple of games due to his hamstring injury - as a did not practice today," Schefter said.
Not exactly the news you want to hear when it comes to one of your best offensive players.
Receivers DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson and Britain Covey will need to step up and take some of the pressure off of the running game. Smith has proven he can be a superstar in this league, so he needs to step up his game this week.
The Eagles traded for former No. 1 pick Dotson for situations just like this. He never spread his wings in Washington, but it's time for him to fly with the Eagles.
Tight end Dallas Goedert will play a big part in the passing game as well. He will need to step up and find those open spots in the zone or between defenders to help move the chains.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts ran 13 times for 85 yards on Monday Night. Not the ideal way you want your quarterback to play, but he is one of the league's best dual-threat quarterbacks, so if he can keep the chains moving and push his team into the endzone, we say let him cook.
Without Brown on the field, it's all hands on deck. Philadelphia has a tough draw on the road this week against the upstart New Orleans Saints and their high-powered offense at 1 p.m. ET on Fox.
