Injuries. It's the thing that has derailed seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles or kept them out of true championship title contention.
It's also an excuse that cannot be used for the organization going into their Week 6 contest against the Cleveland Browns.
Top players like A.J. Brown, Lane Johnson, and DeVonta Smith were players who missed the last few weeks due to a string of injuries. Even some defensive players were banged up during the early portions of the season.
No more.
Philadelphia's final injury report leading into Sunday's contest is completely injury free. No player has a designation going in - a great sign for the 2-2 Birds.
That also means the excuses are dry. The Birds are better on paper than the 1-4 Browns. They haven't played like a top team overall, but they have more talent overall.
And with a fully healthy team, it would be inexcusable for the organization to come out flat and either lose or simply squeak by the Browns.
No wins are easy in the modern NFL, but if the Eagles want to be considered a top team in the league like they have pushed to be, they need to make sure they are playing some dominant football.
And while they haven't done it just yet during the 2024 season, a fully healthy roster should certainly help.
