Philadelphia Eagles legend and future Hall of Famer Brandon Graham gave his two cents on the heated Tush Push debate this week, and it makes the rest of the NFL look like fools.
While appearing on an episode of “Up & Adams," Graham made it very clear that he believes the Tush Push should not go anywhere simply because the rest of the league can't find a way to stop it.
“I wouldn’t even think like that," Graham said. "I wouldn’t even wanna tell nobody that, ‘Man, ban that.’
“We didn’t need it. We didn’t need it at all...Everybody knows what’s coming...And if we didn’t have the personnel for it, then, of course, y’all would stop it.”
Graham went on to explain how teams will eventually figure it out how to either stop it or run it just as effectively.
“They gonna figure out something. This league is very, very smart, and they always find you,” Graham said. “That’s one thing I respect about this league. If you get an offseason on the guy that killed it one year, you better make sure you stay consistent. Because they [are] coming for you this year. That same stuff that got you last year might not be as good this year.”
While Graham has never had to personally stop the play at practice, he would get to the bottom of figuring it out if he were on another team.
“If another team was doing it, I would be challenged to be like, ‘Hey man, we gonna be the one to stop that,’ Graham said.
Right now, the league is 16-18 on Tush Push voting. They need 24 to officially ban it or change the rules.
If the NFL and Roger Goodell can swing eight more votes ahead of their owners meeting in May, then that could be the end of it for the Tush Push.
But to Graham, that sounds like the easy way out.
