Eagles make a move at NFL Trade Deadline (just not the expected one)

Vic Fangio isn't a fan of trades this late in the season. During a sit-down with Philly media members before the Philadelphia Eagles played the Jacksonville Jaguars, he said he doesn't think they lead to much. But, he also feels grabbing someone an organization intends to hold on to can give that player the jump on next season. The Birds did neither.

Tuesday's 4 p.m. EST deadline came and went with zero activity. We knocked off early as Josina Anderson reported they were "standing pat". That was good enough for us. Josina's reporting has never betrayed us.

Philly did announce a roster move though. It just wasn't the one we expected. As we prepared to decompress from another work day, they announced the release of a tight end.

The Eagles have released Albert Okwuegbunam.

There were whispers that Philly might be shopping Bryce Huff as a potential trade piece. As it turns out, they're stuck with him. He's still hanging in there. That isn't the case on the Albert Okwuegbunam front.

Philly officially announced Albert O's release. We can only hope this means, Philly is close to inserting Dallas Goedert back into the lineup.

Goedert only played three snaps vs. the Cleveland Browns in Week 5. He's been MIA ever since but was never added to Philly's injured reserve.

It's Dallas Cowboys Week, and the first injury report will be released on Wednesday. Hopefully, we'll see our 'Dallas' participated in the afternoon workout session. A.J. Brown's knee issue reportedly isn't serious. That's good news, but Philly could use as many hands on deck as possible when they tackle their rivals.
