Eagles’ Offensive Line Earns Prestigious Ranking Ahead of 2025 Campaign

The Philadelphia Eagles are the best team in the league until further notice. After all, that’s the label you earn after you win the Super Bowl, which is what they did last season when they destroyed the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the final game of the 2024 season. And with a large group of their players from last year’s team returning, the Eagles appear well-positioned to make a serious run for their second straight championship.

While many of Philadelphia’s skill position players garner attention, one of their top units is their offensive line. Not only do they create running lanes for Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts, but they also do a standup job of protecting Hurts when he drops back to pass. As a result, the team has earned a prestigious label from Pro Football Focus as the 2025 campaign draws near.

Eagles’ Offensive Line Ranked No. 1 in NFL by PFF

Last season, the Eagles’ offensive line (from left tackle to right tackle) featured Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Mekhi Becton, and Lane Johnson. Of this group, Dickerson, Jurgens, and Johnson were all Pro Bowlers, while Johnson also made the All-Pro Second-Team alongside Mailata.

The only guy from this group who isn’t returning is Becton, who signed a two-year, $20 million contract with the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency over the offseason. He appears set to be replaced by Tyler Steen, an unproven third-year player who was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft a couple of years ago.

Even with Steen being a bit of a question mark, Philly has four Pro Bow-caliber players around him. If he struggles, they will have the manpower to help him in order to keep their offense chugging along. With that in mind, PFF ranked the Eagles’ offensive line as the best in the league, as they appear well-equipped to help their squad attempt to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

“The Eagles boast the NFL’s best offensive tackle duo, featuring two players who rank at the top of their respective positions,” PFF wrote. “Left tackle Jordan Mailata’s 95.2 PFF overall grade in 2024 led all offensive tackles, while right tackle Lane Johnson’s 88.9 mark placed fifth.”

“There is some uncertainty along Philadelphia’s interior following right guard Mekhi Becton’s departure, but Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens remain to make this the best offensive line in football entering the 2025 season.”

Eagles Offensive Line Looking to Dominate Again in 2025

The Eagles offensive line

Philadelphia’s offensive line was a wrecking crew in 2024. Over the past few seasons, they have helped popularize the “Tush Push,” making their offense nearly unstoppable in short-yardage situations. They also do a great job of keeping Hurts standing upright, which allows their deep passing game to develop, leading to big plays for guys like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

The continuity of this group also helps, as even Steen has two seasons of experience playing alongside the remainder of this core. If he can develop like the Eagles are hoping for him, there’s no doubt that they will boast the best offensive line in 2025.
