“For Saquon Barkley, this is a blessing in disguise,” Cowboys star Micah Parsons says. “The Giants did not appreciate him. And now the rest of the league is facing the consequences of the Giants’ stupidity.''
ARLINGTON - The Dallas Cowboys have their own problems, to be sure. But that has never stopped Micah Parsons from speaking out about ... well, whatever.
Meanwhile, the New York Giants are in Germany today to play the Panthers, thus putting themselves and their decisions in the spotlight.
They got a ton of flack for letting running back Saquon Barkley walk in free agency. Matters only got worse when he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, and then again when he trampled the Giants in his return to MetLife Stadium.
The Eagles - who play at Parsons' Cowboys today here at AT&T Stadium - are now 6-2, with Barkley playing like an MVP candidate.
And as the Giants flounder at 2-7, the punches keep on coming.
Parsons, via his his podcast “The Edge,” and took a shot at his rival in the process.
“For Saquon, this is a blessing in disguise,” Parsons said. “People are seeing what you’re capable of when people appreciate you. The Giants did not appreciate him. And now the rest of the league is facing the consequences of the Giants’ stupidity. This is always who he was.”
Parsons isn’t exactly breaking new ground here. In fairness, New York decided it wasn’t in a spot to pay big money to a running back, and Philadelphia felt like a piece away from returning to contention. Signing him three years and $37.75 million, the Eagles offered him the best offensive line, quarterback, and chance to win of his career.
The moment the Giants figured he wasn’t a part of their long-term plans, the Eagles became the obvious choice. Their aggression has paid off.
The Giants have egg on their face. ... and the Saquon Stupidity Spotlight isn't turning off any time soon.
