Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is on hand for OTAs despite being mired in a contract stalemate with the team.
Fresh off a breakout first season as a starter, Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers is looking for a long-term contract.
The former first-round pick from Utah State is set to earn $13 million next season. He’ll hit NFL free agency next March unless the two sides can agree to terms on a long-term deal.
Nothing seems to be imminent on this front. However, Love is on hand for Packers organized team activities (OTAs) this week. He opted against holding out to make a point.
“I mean, that’s just something that I’ve always done — trying to be here, get the reps in, get the work in with the guys, and just start building that chemistry and getting ready for the season,” Love told reporters, via ESPN.

In his first season replacing four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, Love showed out big time for the Packers. That included leading the team to a surprise appearance in the playoffs.
Still only 25 years old, he has a bright future in Green Bay.
With that said, the contract situation is a tad complicated. Love has started all of 18 games since being a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. That sample size is small for someone who is likely in line for north of $40 million annually on a new contract.
