Grant, a day trader and former basketball player from New Jersey made his television debut during Jenn's season of The Bachelorette, but he was eliminated before hometown dates. He was soon announced as the franchise's next male lead. He kicked off The Bachelor season 29 with high expectations, but he failed to meet up with them. In many ways, he has floundered as the lead, and his season looks like it may end on a bad note. I'll never be able to forgive the franchise for another failure.
A Pattern Of Failure
Does The Show No Longer Work?
Few of the last few seasons of The Bachelor franchise shows have ended with true love. Other than Joey and Kelsey and The Golden Bachelorette season 1's Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple, it's been one failure after the other. Bachelor In Paradise ended without any lasting relationships. The Golden Bachelor season 1 ended with a divorce, and The Bachelorette season 21 ended with Jenn's broken heart. I don't think I can take another failure. If Grant fails to find love during The Bachelor season 29, I don't know if I'll forgive the franchise.
Grant Struggled To Make Real Connections
He Was Afraid Of Making "Bad Decisions"
The Bachelor season 28 was a tough act to follow, but I had high hopes for Grant's season. There was plenty of drama, but Grant didn't seem to know what he wanted. He waffled so much, and his affections swung wildly on and off. Before the season, Grant told People he was afraid of making "bad decisions," but I'm convinced his caution may keep him from finding love.
Grant's Indecision Plays A Big Role In How The Show Ends
Could He Walk Away All Alone?
Grant chose his final three women, but I wouldn't be surprised if he walked away without handing out his final rose. The Bachelor season 29 trailer, which Bachelor Nation posted to YouTube, ends with Grant waffling during the final rose ceremony. When host Jesse Palmer asks him if he's ready to choose between the final two women, Grant says, "The truth is, I don't know." If the show ends without Grant finding true love, I may never forgive the franchise.
