On Monday, the Golden State Warriors will put their four-game win streak on the line when they welcome the Portland Trail Blazers to Chase Center. When the Warriors suit up against the Trail Blazers on Monday, they will be shorthanded with a pair of key players sidelined.
Second-year guard Brandin Podziemski has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Trail Blazers due to lower back soreness, joining Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) on the sideline. Podziemski was ruled out of Golden State's win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday due to his back injury. Podziemski exited the Warriors' win in Brooklyn in the opening minute of the game due to his lower back soreness.
In 50 games, Podziemski is averaging 10.1 points on 42.7% shooting from the field to go along with 4.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 25.4 minutes per game. Prior to his injury against the Nets, Podziemski tallied 19 points in back-to-back games against the New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets.
With Podziemski sidelined, Steve Kerr will continue to lean on Moses Moody, Buddy Hield and Gary Payton II in the backcourt next to Stephen Curry. Rookie center Quinten Post was added to the starting lineup on Saturday against the Pistons with Podziemski out.
Kuminga will miss his 31st consecutive game on Monday against the Trail Blazers due to an ankle sprain. Kuminga has begun scrimmaging with the Warriors as his return to the court looms.
