Insider Reveals 2 Highly Drafted Titans Players Who Are 'Expendable'

The Tennessee Titans are still recovering from the poor decisions that plagued the franchise under former general managers Jon Robinson and Ran Carthon. This offseason, however, the organization attempted to make a massive turnaround in the first year with Mike Borgonzi as the main decision-maker.

Part of this change will be finding upgrades for the roster after a disastrous three-win campaign in 2024, but another aspect will be getting rid of the dead weight that is currently in the building. The Titans have made several whiffs on early-round draft prospects in recent years, and the new regime in Tennessee may look to remedy this.

With the NFL Draft just days away, the Titans lack a third-round pick after trading for cornerback L'Jarius Sneed last offseason. However, they may look to acquire a mid-round selection before the event by trading away a player or two.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that both quarterback Will Levis and wide receiver Treylon Burks could be expendable during the NFL Draft. This means that either, or both, of these players could be traded in exchange for a draft pick come Thursday.

Levis has failed to find his footing under center for Tennessee, winning only five games as the starter in two seasons. He's completed just 61.0% of his passes and thrown for 21 touchdowns compared to 16 interceptions and 17 fumbles. Burks' career has been largely derailed by injuries thus far, playing in just 27 games through three seasons. All told, he has caught just 53 balls for less than 700 yards and a touchdown.

Cam Ward is the obvious replacement for Levis in this year's draft, and the Titans are rumored to be interested in several high-end wide receiver prospects. The writing is on the wall for both of these players, which is what happens when you fail to live up to the expectations of where you were drafted.
