Tyson, 57, recently had a medical emergency on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles that stemmed from an ulcer flare-up. During a follow-up, Tyson was advised by medical staff to limit his training over the next few weeks.

The bout, sanctioned on April 29, is expected to be the first-ever live sporting event on Netflix. A new fight date will announced on Friday, June 7, according to a statement from Most Valuable Promotions.

“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” Tyson said. “I appreciate everyone’s patience and can't wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”

The fight was scheduled to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington and MVP Promotions said it expects to reschedule the fight at that venue once a date is set. Paul is a -215 favorite at FanDuel to win the fight with Tyson listed as a +162 underdog.

Paul is 9-1 as a professional boxer with six KOs and wins over various MMA fighters who were making their debut in boxing against him. His one loss came against Tommy Fury who defeated Paul by split decision in February 2023. Tyson, 56-6 with 44 KOs, took part in an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, but his last professional fight was in 2005 against Kevin McBride.
