Longtime journeyman quarterback Jameis Winston is headed to the Super Bowl.
Well, kind of. On Wednesday afternoon Fox Sports announced Winston will be part of the network's coverage of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
"The most viral man in the league is coming to @NFLonFOX @Jaboowins joins FOX Sports as a Digital Correspondent in New Orleans at Super Bowl LIX!" the network announced on social media earlier this afternoon.
Front Office Sports revealed details from Winston's new assignment:
Winston, who played quarterback for the Saints from 2020 to 2023 and last year for the Browns, will be taking the digital audience around New Orleans on video journeys showcasing his favorite dining and entertainment hot-spots. Now a free agent, Winston has become a cult-like figure among football fans who gravitate toward his infectious personality.
The former Cleveland Browns quarterback is set for free agency this offseason, but is fired up about his new job. In response to the announcement from Fox Sports this afternoon, Winston delivered a short, four-word message.
"See y’all in NOLA!" he said with a few emojis.
Winston has been a fan favorite in the NFL for years, especially during his latest stint with the Browns where he became a social media darling for his appearance in HBO's in-season "Hard Knocks" focusing on the AFC North.
Now he's headed back to where he used to play for a bit of fun - which is exactly what NFL audiences will expect from the talented, but turnover prone quarterback.
