Given the New York Jets' lack of receiving options behind Garrett Wilson, if there ever was a time to be a rookie receiver coming to Aaron Glenn's team, it's now.
With Wilson, Josh Reynolds, and Allen Lazard as Justin Fields' go-to guys, the group behind them is up for grabs.
Malachi Corley, Tyler Johnson, Xavier Gipson, and Arian Smith are all vying for a spot in Tanner Enstrand's offense, but don't forget about some undrafted rookies, either, like Jamaal Pritchett.
The speedy receiver comes to the Jets looking to prove himself, and while he isn't the most physically built player, he still has plenty of upside.
And for Pro Football Focus' Ben Cooper, he might even have enough juice to knock a veteran down a couple of spots on the depth chart.
"Garrett Wilson is far and away the Jets’ top wide receiver, and the pecking order behind him is unclear," Cooper writes. "That means fourth-rounder Arian Smith and several UDFAs could be vying for significant roles and/or roster spots. Pritchett’s resume is certainly worth a look, in that case.
"Pritchett could easily stand out to the point where he takes over in the slot for Allen Lazard, who remains a solid contributor but has suffered from drop issues over the past two seasons in New York."
Coming off his best-ever college season with South Alabama, in which he totaled 1,127 yards and nine touchdowns from 91 receptions, Pritchett is a smaller receiver with blistering speed.
In a similar play style to Arian Smith, Pritchett is seen as a speed monster who offers value both in the passing game and as a returner.
His quick feet and ability to turn upfield once he gets the ball as a YAC merchant will be something to watch this offseason.
It might be a big call to suggest Pritchett might make some noise among the Jets' receiver depth chart, but he does have the tools to do so.
