Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals fell short of their Super Bowl aspirations this past season, narrowly missing the postseason with a 9-8 regular-season record.

Despite the Bengals' struggles as a team, Burrow put forth one of the best individual seasons of his five-year NFL career thus far. The 28-year-old quarterback led the league in passing yards (4,918), passing touchdowns (43), completions (460) and yards per game (289.3).

Burrow was recognized for his stellar play at the NFL Honors last week, winning the league's Comeback Player of the Year Award for the second time in his career. He suffered a season-ending wrist injury 10 games into the 2023 season, but came back stronger than ever in 2024.

Burrow also finished 4th in MVP voting, trailing Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Saquon Barkley.

On Monday — one day after the Philadelphia Eagles took down the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl LIX matchup — Burrow took to social media to recognize his Comeback Player of the Year accomplishment.

"Hard work brings cool stuff," Burrow wrote on Instagram.

Burrow won his first Comeback Player of the Year trophy in 2021 — one year after tearing his ACL midway through his rookie season as the Bengals' No. 1 overall pick.

“I wouldn’t say this is necessarily an award you want to be nominated for two times,” Burrow said in this year's acceptance speech. "But I'm proud of the work I've put in to come back from these injuries I seem to face every year. Fortunately, I'm healthy this year. I have a great team around me... In the offseason we put together a great plan to help me go play my best on Sundays and come back from these injuries stronger."

Burrow and the Bengals will look to build on the positive momentum they found late in the 2024 season when they return to the field in 2025.
