Count Julian Edelman among those who like the New England Patriots signing Stefon Diggs in NFL free agency. In a segment of the Dudes on Dudes podcast he hosts alongside former teammate Rob Gronkowski, the ex-Patriots wide receiver explained why New England acquiring Diggs makes perfect sense.
The segment itself was recorded before the signing, shortly after Diggs took a visit to Foxboro. However, the points raised by Edelman about him lighting a fire under the receiver room still remain valid:
Diggs joined the Patriots on a reported three-year contract with a maximum value of $69 million and $26 million in guarantees. A former member of the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills, the 31-year-old spent the 2024 season with the Houston Texans. He caught 47 passes for 496 yards and 3 touchdowns in his first eight games with the club, but was lost for the remainder of the season when he tore his ACL in late October.
