Last Of Us Season 2 Gives First Look At Ellie’s Tattoo But Fans Aren’t Happy With Hairstyle Choice

The Last of Us season 2's Bella Ramsey has been spotted in some behind-the-scenes images donning Ellie's trademark fern tattoo, but fans are a little perplexed at why the HBO show has decided to change up her hairstyle from the game. While we know that season 2 is still quite a long way off from airing, we've had plenty of sneaky pics of Joel and Ellie while they take on post-apocalypse yet again.

Not only have we seen a first glance at how Joel will look, which may also indicate a time-jump detail, but we also saw some creepy forest images of what lies in wait. As more images of season 2 are bound to begin pouring out in the run-up to its release, new Ellie pics are causing a division among fans.

Ellie's Hairstyle In The Last Of Us Season 2 Has Sparked A Debate

Unsurprisingly, The Last of Us season two was confirmed by its co-showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann after only two episodes of season one had aired due to fans falling in love with how well the video game had been adapted. Although there had been initial skepticism about whether Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey were suitable to play the dynamic duo, within the first few episodes, it was clear that HBO had found its Joel and Ellie.

Hoping to release sometime next year in 2025, the cast has been hard at work as they tie up season 2 in Canada, and in a couple of recent images of Ramsey on set with Dina, we get a first look at Ellie's iconic fern tattoo, but with this being the internet and all, some Last of Us fans just can't be pleased. In the leaked photos, Ellie and Dina can be seen wandering around downtown Seattle on high alert with their guns out, and this is where we not only get a good look at her recognizable tattoo from Part 2 but also how Ellie's hair will look.

In The Last of Us Part 2, Ellie's hairstyle is just above her shoulders and semi-tied back, but since it doesn't look to be the exact same way in season 2 and quite a lot longer, fans are freaking out - for whatever reason. "Y'ALL I'M GOING INSANE BUT WHY DOESN'T SHE HAVE SHORT HAIRR UGHHH" cried out one unamused fan in the comments of The Last of Us News' post showing off the leaked pics. "CUT HER HAIRRR" said another (I'm not too sure why everyone is shouting), while this fan just wanted her to go to the hairdresser by stating "Ffs she needs to change hairstyle".

There were also comments on how bad the tattoo looked in comparison to the game but really, these shots aren't the best of quality, so naturally, they aren't going to come across as perfect or in 4K. This also goes for Bella Ramsey's hair. Who cares if it's a little bit longer than in the game, as long as the acting is just as brilliant as it was in season one? A video game adaptation doesn't need to be an exact frame-for-frame recreation for it to be great, as we have already seen, so everyone just needs to chill out here and save their opinions for when it releases.

The Last of Us season 2 is expected to arrive in 2025, but an exact release date has yet to be confirmed. Although there are hopes that since season one was released in January 2023, we could see the HBO show spring onto our screens in the same month next year, so let's keep our fingers crossed.
