Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper has put together a sensational tenure as the club's bench boss. With him behind the bench, the Lightning have had immense success and have been one of the NHL's most dominant teams.
Due to this, in a recent NHL.com poll that ranked the top 16 head coaches in the league, Cooper justifiably finished in first place with 230 total points.
When looking at Cooper's tenure as the Lightning's head coach, it is hard to argue against his ranking. He has held the position since the 2012-13 season and has done an outstanding job in Tampa. In 879 games as the Lightning's head coach, Cooper has a 525-279-75 record. In addition, he notably led the Lightning to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021.
Given Cooper's excellent job as head coach of the Lightning, it is understandable that he is being viewed in such a positive light. It will be entertaining to see what kind of season the Lightning have under him in 2024-25 from here.
