The Tampa Bay Lightning have made their decision with this PTO addition.

According to PuckPedia, the Tampa Bay Lightning are signing forward Logan Brown to an American Hockey League (AHL) contract. With this, he will start the season with the Syracuse Crunch.

Brown signed a professional tryout (PTO) contract with the Lightning before the start of training camp. This was after the 6-foot-7 forward missed the entirety of the 2023-24 season as a member of the Lightning due to a hip injury that required surgery.

Brown, 26, also suffered an undisclosed injury deeper into training camp and has been sidelined since.

While Brown did not earn an NHL contract from his PTO with the Lightning, the potential for this to change during the season is undoubtedly there. If he impresses while with the Crunch, it could open the door to Lightning signing him to an NHL deal. In addition, he is eligible to sign with any other NHL team while under this AHL deal.

In 99 career NHL games split between the Ottawa Senators and St. Louis Blues, Brown has seven goals, 26 points, 58 hits, and a minus-9 rating.
