Andrei Vasilevskiy is inches away from setting a new major career milestone.
Tampa Bay Lightning superstar goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy has had a magnificent career. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, one-time Vezina Trophy winner (2019), one-time Conn Smythe Trophy winner (2021), two-time First All-Star Team member, and a five-time NHL All-Star. He also just turned only 30 years old, so he still has a lot of time left to accomplish even more.
Assuming Vasilevskiy stays healthy, he will also hit a massive milestone this season. Vasilevskiy is only seven wins away from reaching 300 for his career.
At this juncture, only 39 goalies in NHL history have recorded 300 career wins. Carolina Hurricanes goalie Frederik Andersen will also reach it this season if he stays healthy, as he is only five wins away from the mark. With this, Vasilevskiy will be joining elite company once he gets win No. 300.
It will be intriguing to see how long it takes Vasilevskiy to get his 300th career win. If the Lightning starts the season hot, he will reach it quickly.
