Lightning Superstar Can Hit Massive Milestone

This Tampa Bay Lightning star has the potential to hit a new single-season milestone in 2024-25.

Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Brayden Point once again had a spectacular season in 2023-24. In 81 games for the Lightning on the year, the Calgary, Alberta native posted 46 goals and 90 points. This was after he had 51 goals and 95 points in 82 games for the Lightning in 2022-23, so the 28-year-old has hit a new level during his prime years.

However, as outstanding as Point has been over these last few seasons, he could hit a single-season milestone in 2024-25. Given his stellar offensive play over these last few seasons, the potential for him to record his first 100-point season is there.

As noted above, Point has come within striking distance of 100 points in each of the last two seasons. He also had 92 points for the Lightning during the 2018-19 season. Thus, if he stays healthy and takes even the slightest of steps forward, the 2014 third-round pick could hit 100 points.

Heading into next season, Point is the Lightning's clear first-line center and will play with superstar forward Nikita Kucherov. In addition, the expectation is that new Lightning star Jake Guentzel will play left wing on the line. This trio has the potential to be lethal, and Point should benefit because of it.

Nevertheless, it will be exciting to see if Point can hit 100 points for the first time during the 2024-25 season. He has come close to it multiple times, and it is apparent that he has the potential to because of it.
