Lions can finally circle the date when they get revenge on the Commanders

Detroit has a match with DC set for Week 10.

The Detroit Lions will have to wait just a bit to get a shot at revenge against the Washington Commanders in 2025. After being eliminated from the rookie Jayden Daniels in the NFC Divisional Round, the Lions are hungry to prove that that game was a blemish on their currently great resume that'll never happen again.

Detroit will get a chance to face off with Washington in Week 10 on the road against the Commanders, where Jared Goff will lead a returning Lions offense against a team that added Deebo Samuel to their offense ahead of 2025.

Revenge games are always sweet, and this is going to be a big test for Detroit for a number of reasons. Namely, they'll be playing Washington in November, so the weather is going to be a big storyline for Goff. If he performs well in what we can only guess is going to be a cold match, he can erase the narrative about how poorly he does outside of a domed stadium completely.

However, if he folds, we're going to be stuck listening to just how troublesome trusting Goff down the stretch of postseason football can be - especially with not every NFC team having a domed field like the Lions have.

All time, the Lions are 16-28 against Washington, and they've never defefeated the Commanders in the postseason. It's a big hill to climb, especially as both teams look like they're hitting their peaks right now. But, if there's any test for the Lions to take to see if they can handle another postseason battle with them, it's seeing them in Washington prior to the start of the postseason.

Key matchups to watch in this one will include fight between Samuel and, presumably, one of D.J. Reed or Terrion Arnold as well as the Commanders' offensive line containing Aidan Hutchinson.
