Lisa Rinna Reveals the True Story Behind Her Famous Lips

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Lisa Rinna is opening up about the cosmetic procedure she had decades ago that gave her those iconic lips.

Lisa Rinna Reveals the True Story Behind Her Famous Lips

During an episode of her podcast with husband Harry Hamlin, “Let’s Not Talk About the Husband,” Rinna told listeners the story of how her famous pout came to be. Rinna reminded Hamlin that she’d written about her lips in her 2009 book “Rinnavation: Getting Your Best Life Ever,” and gave some interesting details.

Rinna shared that she and a friend were inspired to get their lips done after after seeing an actor in the movie “Beaches.” “Barbara Hershey put collagen in her top lip, we thought it was the coolest thing ever,” she said.

What Exactly Did Lisa Rinna Have Done?

Rinna said she was 24 years old at the time and revealed that her friend had a doctor who would do the collagen injections. But they were curious about other options. “We thought, ‘well, that’s so cool, but wouldn’t it be better if you could have something that lasted forever?'” Rinna recalled.

She continued, “So what did we do? We found somebody who would shoot freaking silicone in our lips that would last forever.” But it wasn’t a one and done procedure, Rinna explained. “… we had to go four times and have tiny little bits at a time … we held each other’s hands and did it.”

The reason Rinna felt compelled to tell the story of her lips was due to the fact that other celebs have recently come out and spoken freely about their own cosmetic procedures. She praised a fellow reality star for opening up about a recent surgery. “… Kris Jenner came out, which I thought was very cool, and said who had just done her facelift because it’s phenomenal …,” Rinna said.

Lisa Rinna Was Open About Another Procedure Too

While in conversation with her husband, Rinna seemed to decide on the spot to open about the breast implants she’d gotten as well. She revealed that she had gotten saline implants after her daughters Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray were born.

“They were down to my knees,” Rinna said about her breasts after giving birth. “… I wanted to get my mojo back.” But the saline implants were too big for Rinna’s liking, and she said they were often painful as well.

“So, I had those boobs for 10 years,” she shared, eventually opting for another procedure to have them replaced with silicone implants. “I had the smallest ones put in … 180s,” Rinna disclosed.

For his part, Hamlin didn’t seem to mind either way. “…you said, ‘I’m not a boob man and I don’t care’ which was lovely,” Rinna reminded her husband.
