Fox Force Five is the friendship alliance made up of Lisa, Erika Jayne, Kyle Richards, Teddi Mellencamp, and Dorit Kemsley on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Though the friendship group was strong for many years, it took a hit last year when Kyle feuded with Dorit.

Back in season 9, Fox Force Five exposed Lisa Vanderpump’s alleged involvement in leaking a story about Dorit to the press. Many fans on social media, however, took Vanderpump’s side, claiming the five ‘ganged up’ on her. Amid the heat, Vanderpump stopped filming for the show and opted out of a cast trip to Provence. Since that dramatic season, producers have publicly suggested that Lisa indeed leaked the story, despite her continual denials.

On her “Let’s Not Talk About The Husband” podcast, Lisa shared the origin story of the “Fox Force Five” title.

“Fox Force Five came about [during] the season that we went to Provence,” recalled Lisa. “The goal of these trips is, you know, to really mix it up.”

“By mix it up, what does that mean?” asked her husband and co-host Harry Hamlin.

“[To] have stuff happen, [but] the five of us were all getting along,” she went on. “I’m sure Bravo and the producers were like, ‘Oh f**k. What do we do?'”

She said the title came from a Quentin Tarantino film.

“You know the scene [in Pulp Fiction] with Uma Thurman and John Travolta? She’s telling Travolta that she did a pilot about these five women called ‘Fox Force Five’ and they were like [a] spy team and it didn’t get picked up,” said Lisa. “After that trip, I think Erika posted something, and she called us the ‘Fox Force Five’ from Pulp Fiction.”

And that, according to Lisa, is how it all began.

During that season, Vanderpump resigned before Andy Cohen could question her about the leak allegations at the reunion. Some fans believe she was trying to dodge questions.
