Malik Willis is entering his second season with the Green Bay Packers, and he’s not waiting for the training camp to begin before he starts doing work on the field. The former Liberty Flames signal-caller has shared a clip of his training down in Florida with quarterback coach Sean McEvoy via social media.
“Work,” Willis captioned a repost of McEvoy’s post on Instagram that shows the signal-caller throwing a ball to a target downfield.

The offense ran differently with Willis under center, as the Packers greatly limited their passing plays while making use of his ability to use his legs to penetrate opposing defenses. He had 136 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries with the Packers in 2024.
Green Bay Packers’ Willis listed as 9th in NFL backup QB ranking

Back in May, Gilberto Manzano of Sports Illustrated ranked 32 quarterbacks expected to serve as backups to their respective teams, and Willias got a relatively lofty place on the lost, as he was given the ninth spot.
Willis needed some experience—and to leave the Titans—to get his career on track. There was nothing special about Willis’s two starts with the Packers last season, but he showed strong command of the offense and did enough to win both games while Jordan Love recovered from a knee injury. Willis has come a long way since his disastrous performances with the Titans. Also, Willis gets a bump for these rankings because he has the benefit of playing with Josh Jacobs and receiving play calls from coach Matt LaFleur.
