The linebacker returned to Dolphins practice during the team’s fourth training camp session.
The Miami Dolphins returned to the practice field on Sunday for their fourth training camp practice of the offseason — this time with fans in attendance for the first time all camp.
Ahead of their return to the field in Miami Gardens, the team activated linebacker David Long Jr. from the physically unable to perform list, clearing the way for the 27-year-old to practice with the squad for the first time during training camp.
Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reported that Long Jr. returned wearing a compression sleeve on his left leg and did not participate in team drills.
David Long Jr. was the first linebacker to wear the team’s orange jersey this offseason. The orange jersey is given to the player who performed the best in the team’s previous practice session. Since being recognized, three other linebackers have also received the award — Duke Riley, Jordyn Brooks and Anthony Walker Jr.
Long’s health will be important if the Dolphins’ new-look linebacking corp is to perform up to expectations this upcoming season.
