Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill Reveals Unorthodox Treatment He Received In The Offseason

The Miami Dolphins have one of the best receivers in the NFL, Tyreek Hill. However, the veteran receiver is approaching a critical age for many players. Once players hit the age of 30, production will often start to decline. Football is a rigorous sport, and the human body can only take so much. However, in the modern age, players go to great lengths to take care of their bodies. Hill revealed that he underwent stem cell treatments to attempt to regenerate cells in his body.

The treatment was done in Antigua this offseason. Tyreek Hill was attempting to regenerate cells and increase the overall blood flow in his body. The early returns are positive. He had this to say about the drills early on in training camp.

“Let’s just say on a few of them I ran backwards. That’s how easy it was. Tell the Dolphins to bring it harder.”

The Miami Dolphins are hoping for another big year out of Hill. In the last two seasons, he has had some absurd numbers. He has 238 catches for 3,509 yards and 20 touchdowns since being traded from the Kansas City Chiefs. If the Dolphins hope to topple the AFC’s elite, they will need those types of numbers out of Hill. Part of reaching those numbers is staying on the field and off the injury list. He hopes the treatment will help.

Contract Situation

Tyreek Hill also addressed his contract situation. The speedy wide receiver wants a new deal, but he made sure to tell the team’s fans not to worry. He wants to be with the Dolphins long-term.

“Obviously, I let [my agent] Drew [Rosenhaus] and the team handle that and that situation. The only thing I told Drew [was], ‘Do not get me traded, bro. Last time you did this, you got me traded.’ That’s been my only thing to him, I’m like—I want to stay here in Miami, man. Obviously, this is where family is now. Everybody loves it here—family loves it, wife loves it, kids love it. So, obviously I love it. I love playing for coach and my teammates are awesome. So, I wouldn’t want to leave, man.”

Hill loves being in Miami. Head coach Mike McDaniel knows how to put him in situations to garner big numbers. The Florida weather probably doesn’t hurt either. The wide receiver market has been booming recently. Many of the game’s top pass-catchers have gotten new deals this offseason. This only helps Hill’s negotiating power.

Difficult Situation For The Dolphins

While the Miami Dolphins would love to sign Hill to a huge deal, they have other issues on the team. Reports have indicated the team and Tua Tagovailoa are far apart on a deal. The former Alabama quarterback wants a fair market deal, while the team wants him to take a discount. They just paid fellow wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and need to rebuild the offensive line at some point.

This feels like a make-or-break year for the Dolphins. If they cannot break through in the AFC, there may be some drastic changes coming to the organization in terms of roster building.
