New Lightning Star Leaves Wonderful First Impression

This new Tampa Bay Lightning forward had a strong first game with the club.

The Tampa Bay Lightning had a wonderful opening night, as they defeated the Carolina Hurricanes by a 4-1 final score. Nikita Kucherov was the star of the game for the Bolts, as he had a hat trick and an assist.

While Kucherov was the Lightning's top offensive contributor of the night, Jake Guentzel also left a good first impression with his new team. The Lightning's top signing of the summer had two assists in the contest.

Seeing Guentzel record a multi-point night in his first game with the club is excellent. After signing his huge seven-year, $63 million contract this past off-season, he is expected to be one of the Lightning's most important forwards from here.

Seeing how Guentzel responds to his solid debut with the Bolts will be fun. He is already starting to form strong chemistry with Kucherov and Brayden Point, which is certainly tough news for the rest of the league.
