The NFL has made another strong decision regarding a player's pockets from the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers Week 9 game.
NFL fines Panthers safety
The NFL fined Panthers safety Xavier Woods $16,883 for unnecessary roughness. The hit concussed Saints WR Chris Olave.
Olave had to be taken to the hospital due to the hit. It is his second concussion of the season. Olave was placed on injured reserve on Saturday.
There is a chance that Olave misses the rest of the season. On IR, he will be forced to miss at least four games.
Regardless, it is a plus that the league punished Woods for the hit. It was a difficult one to watch, and there is an argument that the safety should have been suspended for it.
