NFL Star Unfollows Team On Instagram Before The Draft

The NFL Draft will kick off on Thursday, as the first 32 players will hear their names called in the first round.

One team with a pick near the end of the first round may not be looking to replace one star player on their roster, but the player felt compelled to show some apparent displeasure on social media.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens unfollowed the team on Instagram Wednesday, just one night before the start of the NFL Draft. The Steelers have the No. 21 pick in the first round on Thursday night, a pick some believe the team will use to draft a quarterback.

According to FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Steelers are not actively shopping Pickens to other teams ahead of the draft, but they've had discussions about him leading up to Thursday night.

Steelers general manager Omar Khan addressed the matter on Tuesday, when asked if he would consider moving Pickens for a second-round pick - the same pick the team parted with to bring in receiver DK Metcalf.

"No. We're glad we have George and DK here. I think they're going to be exciting for everyone to watch. Excited to have DK here, but no," Khan said when asked about trading Pickens for a second-round pick.

"We'll see how things shake out. I'll say this: we gave up a two for DK — and I'm so excited that we did that. Having him here is great. Obviously, when you get to the draft, you get excited about a lot of players and you wish you had 50 picks right now. There are a lot of good players out there. You know, we'll see how this shakes out."

The Steelers seem to have their receiver situation figured out - although they'll likely need to smooth things over with Pickens amid the trade conversation.

We'll see where they go with No. 21 on Thursday night, and with the additional five picks they currently have, barring any trades.
