One The Walking Dead Star Once Used His Incredible Impression Of Norman Reedus For A Very Important Mission

The Walking Dead actor Ross Marquand reveals the surprising reason he once did a Norman Reedus impression. Reedus has played the fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon since season 1 of the post-apocalyptic show and now has his own spinoff series. Marquand made his debut in The Walking Dead season 5 as Aaron, who helps bring Daryl and his group of survivors into the community of Alexandria. Outside The Walking DeadMarquand has done a great deal of voice acting, including in Invincible, Marvel's What If...?X-Men '97, and Robot Chicken.

During the Spotlight Panel at AwesomeCon hosted by ScreenRant's Joe Deckelmeier, Marquand was asked if he had ever used his voice acting impressions to do a prank on anybody. Marquand shared that he once got a restaurant reservation for himself and other Walking Dead cast members by doing an impression of Reedus. He explained that in order to get into this upscale restaurant, he needed to impersonate someone with extensive clout, and admitted that Reedus never knew he had done this. Check out Marquand's comments below:

Ross Marquand: I did get a restaurant reservation one time for myself and some of The Walking Dead cast because I do a Norman Reedus impression. This was one of the few times I'd ever do that, but I just knew that my clout was probably not enough to get into this really nice restaurant.

I was just like, "[imitating Reedus] Oh, yeah, hey. This is Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead. Yeah, we're just trying to go to this restaurant. There's, like, 10 of us. Is that cool?" They were like, "Yes, Norman Reedus, of course. Whatever you need." It worked!

ScreenRant: Does Norman know that you did that?

Marquand: No!

What This Means For The Walking Dead

The Cast Knows How To Have Fun

Marquand's playful anecdote is indicative of a strong sense of humor among The Walking Dead's cast. From the original show to the many spinoffs that now exist, the cast brings to life harrowing tales of survival in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies. Despite the dark subject matter, the cast retains their sense of humor, which includes Marquand's impression of Reedus, and Marquand used to secure a nice meal for himself and his fellow actors.

While many characters die and are written out of the show, Daryl and Aaron survive all the seasons, and both make it to The Walking Dead series finale. After so many years working together, there is camaraderie between them and the entire cast, and that includes having fun both on and off set. In this case, the fun took place away from the show, and is made even better by Reedus being unaware of Marquand impersonating him in order to get a restaurant reservation for the cast.

He Needs To Impersonate Daryl In One Of The Spinoffs Now

From playing Aaron in The Walking Dead to his first time playing the Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War, I have always been impressed by Marquand's extensive acting range. It is amusing to hear how he used that range to give an accurate impression of Reedus that was convincing to the staff of this particular restaurant. This anecdote makes The Walking Dead cast even more charming, and part of me hopes that Aaron impersonating Daryl will make it into one of the spinoff shows.
