Pat McAfee's 2-Word Reaction to On-Air Blunder With Aaron Rodgers

Pat McAfee is one of the busiest sports analyst in the nation. Not only does the former punter host his eponymous "The Pat McAfee Show" on ESPN throughout the week, he also co-hosts "College GameDay" on Saturdays.

However, he needs to do a better job of vetting information before sharing it with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his millions of viewers

On Tuesday, Rodgers made his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," during which they discussed the Detroit Lions' epic 26-23 defeat over the Houston Texans.

Considering Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw five interceptions and the team still left NRG stadium on "Sunday Night Football" with a win, it was quite a comeback.

During the game, a professional Madden gamer named Civ posted on X, "INTERESTING This is now Jared Goff’s 7TH career game with at least 4 interceptions. His record in those games? 6-0. Does Goff have the Texans right where he wants them?"

One day after the tweet went viral Civ posted, "10,000 Likes on a Tweet I made up is objectively hilarious Pushing for a 20K banger next Sunday."

However, McAfee's show never Civ's second post, fact-checked the information, or saw the community note tagged on Civ's post that read, "Jared Goff has thrown 4+ interceptions in only two games of his NFL career. He is 1-1 in those games."

Instead, McAfee and his co-host, Boston Connor insisted to Rodgers that Goff was 7-0 while throwing 4+ interceptions.

Civ posted "The Pat McAfee Show" clip with Rodgers and wrote, "If you’ve ever wondered how easy it is to spread fake information i made this stat up while laying in bed at halftime of the game.."

Several hours later, McAfee saw Civ's message, "Oh no," he replied.

McAfee kept his reaction simple, as he will hopefully offer a more robust apology to listeners on Wednesday's show.
