Of the storylines coming out of Spring Training, there is one that stands out as the most concerning. That story is surrounding starting pitcher Brayan Bello and his shoulder injury.

Bello had been trending in the right direction recently, however, Red Sox manager Alex Cora provided a concerning update on the young starter.

Ian Browne of MLB.com reported that when asked whether Bello would be ready to go for the start of the season, Cora said, "He's behind."

Coming into Sunday, March 2nd, there had been optimism surrounding Bello's rehab. Now, that optimism isn't nearly as strong, as Bello is behind in his recovery.

Cora noticed how time is running out for Bello to be ready by opening day.

"We're still shooting for him to be on the Opening Day roster, but obviously it's March 2nd now."

Opening Day is on March 27th, only 25 days away. Bello has a bullpen session on Monday, March 3rd, which could provide more insight into his progress.

With the rapidly approaching Opening Day on the horizon, Bello has a little over three weeks to get up to speed for the beginning of the 2025 season.
