Report: Browns host former Ohio State standout on free agent visit

   

BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) – NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is reporting that the Cleveland Browns are hosting veteran linebacker Jerome Baker on a free agent visit.

Baker is a former standout at Ohio State as well as a native of Northeast Ohio. He graduated from Cleveland Benedictine High School.

Following his college career with the Buckeyes, he was selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The 28-year-old spent six seasons with the Dolphins before being released by Miami in March of 2024.

He then signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks but was later traded to Tennessee prior to the NFL trade deadline.

Last season between Seattle and Tennessee, Baker appeared in 10 games with eight starts. He finished the season with 61 tackles, two sacks and four passes defensed.

In seven seasons in the NFL, he has appeared in 104 games with 24.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
