Kyle Richards responded to claims of texts with Paul “PK” Kemsley during an interview on Monday.
After Garcelle Beauvais, 57, was seen revealing that PK, 57, had been texting Kyle, 55, after his separation from Dorit Kemsley, 48, in the trailer for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15, Kyle addressed the matter. She also spoke of a number of other hot topics, including her tension with Dorit, Teddi Mellencamp‘s divorce, her split from Mauricio Umansky, 54, and more.
“I really can’t keep up with the rumors,” Kyle admitted on the November 11 episode of E! News after being asked about PK. “There [were] also rumors about Dorit and Mauricio, which was so stupid, and it came from just how they hugged when she was burglarized … Of course, from being friends for 10 years I have text messages with PK, but they were referring to DMs of memes, which we’ve always done. We send each other back and forth, memes always, and even if Dorit and I have had issues before, PK always stays out of it. She would even say, ‘Kyle and I were not even speaking and she and PK will send their memes and I see them laughing, like, there they are, like brother and sister.’”
“[But] obviously, things changed. So that became an issue now,” she added.
Regarding where her issues with Dorit began, Kyle revealed their feud actually began at BravoCon.
“A few things had happened at BravoCon that just made me question our friendship and then a comment she made on Watch What Happens Live. It was all off-the-show stuff. So it just put us in a different place,” she explained.
Although Kyle said she went into production on season 14 intending to clear things up with Dorit “right out of the gate,” she was unsuccessful.
“We’re both going through similar situations and I thought, ‘This is ridiculous to have this negative energy between us instead of leaning on each other during this time.’ And Mo and PK are best friends. So I’m like, ‘Why are we in this situation? We should also be leaning on each other,’” she shared.
One person Kyle has been able to support is Teddi, 43.
“She’s hanging in there. She’s been a very big source of support for me, and I’m just trying to support her as well through this. I know what it feels like to be going through this while you are in the public eye,” Kyle noted.
As for recent claims of having influenced Teddi to leave her husband, Edwin Arroyave, 47, Kyle denied any such thing.
“They had their own issues that they’d been struggling with, obviously. I did not have any influence. I’m not gonna take the blame for all of this,” she stated.
Moving on to her own split, Kyle said that while she “didn’t have a choice” to keep her split off-camera, she did her best at first.
“They’re in my home with the cameras. They know everything. Even if I wanted to try to hide something, which the only reason I was keeping it a little under wraps in the beginning is because Maurcio wasn’t comfortable and I was trying to respect his wishes,” she explained. “So if you saw me acting a little strange or cold or distant, that was why. But don’t think those producers who’ve known me for 14 years didn’t see right through everything.”
When Kyle was then asked about Kathy Hilton’s recent comments about her dating, she seemed to suggest she wasn’t in as much of a hurry as Kathy alluded to.
“Thanks, Kathy. She means well, and she’s been very supportive, but you’re not gonna find me on any dating apps, and I’m definitely not on the prowl,” Kyle clarified.
Then, after revealing she’d want Teddi or Lisa Rinna, 61, to return to RHOBH for season 15, she was asked if she’s “done” with the show, as she declared in the trailer.
“I can never predict what’s gonna happen for next season. I did not think I would come back this season and I survived. I prevailed. Here I am. I needed to take care of myself and I did, and I obviously came back,” she replied.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 premieres Tuesday, November 19, at 8/7c on Bravo.
